Bulls point guard Kirk Hinrich will watch his team take on the Bobcats from the sidelines Friday as his nagging elbow injury continues to be too much to play through, according to ESPN Chicago's Nick Friedell.

The Bulls’ befuddled offense will have to figure things out without their quarterback Friday as Kirk Hinrich’s troublesome elbow will force him to sit out again.

Hinrich sat out seven straight games before the All-Star break with the ailment and then returned for one game only to aggravate the injury against the Hornets. Nate Robinson and Marquis Teague struggled mightily in his place Thursday against the Heat, combining for seven turnovers and seven personal fouls as the Bulls limped to 67 total points.
That has been the case all season for the Bulls, who are 4-10 in games without Hinrich this year and who have failed to break 100 points in their last five games without him.
In theory, the Bobcats should provide a bit of a break for a Bulls team that has lost six of their last nine. But Charlotte already beat them once in Chicago this season, so this game may not be the cakewalk that it seems.
Hinrich is averaging 7.0 points and 5.3 assists in 28.4 minutes per game this season. Robinson is expected to draw the start in his place.
