Kenyon Martin may make Knicks debut vs. 76ers, according to Mike Woodson

Knicks coach Mike Woodson said newly signed Kenyon Martin may play against the 76ers on Sunday.

New York Knicks head coach Mike Woodson said newly acquired forward Kenyon Martin "looked pretty good" in Saturday's practice and may play on Sunday against the Philadelphia 76ers, according to MSG Interactive's Jonah Ballow.

The Knicks signed the 35-year-old Martin to a 10-day contract to help shore up their frontcourt. The team had shown interest in Martin prior to the deadline due to injuries to fellow veteran big men Marcus Camby and Rasheed Wallace. Camby has been dealing with a plantar fascia injury in his left foot since January and Wallace has been out since December with a stress reaction in his left foot.

New York had to clear a roster spot to sign Martin, and did that by trading seldom-used wing Ronnie Brewer to the Oklahoma City Thunder for a second-round pick.

Martin averaged 5.2 points, 4.3 rebounds and one block in 22.4 minutes per game over 42 games with the Los Angeles Clippers last season. The Knicks have lost four games in a row and could use all the help they can get to get back on track.
