NBA 2013 schedule: Lakers with chance to get back to .500 vs. Nuggets

The Lakers will be in search of their fourth straight victory when they face the Nuggets on Monday. A victory will get Los Angeles back to .500 for the first time since December.

USA TODAY Sports

The Los Angeles Lakers have been on a bit of a roll of late, and they will look to get back to .500 for the first time since December when they visit the Denver Nuggets on Monday night.

The Lakers (28-29) won their third straight game on Sunday, beating the Dallas Mavericks in a 103-99 thriller. Kobe Bryant had a monster performance, putting up 38 points, 12 rebounds and seven assists. Fourteen of those 38 points came in the fourth quarter, where Bryant outdueled Dirk Nowitzki down the stretch.

The Nuggets (35-22) have been struggling somewhat of late after winning nine straight, but they are coming off a 113-99 victory over the Charlotte Bobcats on Saturday. Ty Lawson had 20 points to lead Denver, while JaVale McGee had 17 off the bench.

There are only three other games on Monday's slate, with the Washington Wizards and Toronto Raptors kicking off the night. The Raptors (23-33) are 7-3 since the Rudy Gay trade, and the Wizards (17-37) are coming off a big victory over the Houston Rockets.

Elsewhere, the Atlanta Hawks will travel to Detroit to take on the reeling Pistons. The Hawks (31-23) have won four of give games, whereas the Pistons (22-36) have been beaten down twice in a row by the Indiana Pacers.

Finally, the Boston Celtics finish up their West road trip in Utah against the Jazz. The Celtics (29-27) lost on Sunday night in Portland, while the Jazz (31-25) fell to the Los Angeles Clippers on Saturday.
