Indiana Pacers head coach Frank Vogel will limit forward Danny Granger's minutes to 15-20 minutes per game for another week as Granger works into a rhythm, according to the team's website. Granger made his season debut on Saturday against the Detroit Pistons.

Indiana Pacers forward Danny Granger will earn limited minutes for at least another week.

Returning from a knee tendon injury that required an offseason procedure, Granger played 19 minutes and shot 1-of-10 from the field to go along with two rebounds, an assist and a block. He was scheduled to return before the All-Star break but was held out until the 90-72 win because of an illness.
“These guys are all pulling for him,” Vogel told the team’s website. “We’re all really excited about having him back. While it’s gonna take some time for Danny to get his legs under him and his rhythm, timing and conditioning underway, it’s not a chemistry issue in terms of working him back. These guys are welcoming him with open arms.”
Granger told the team's website that he was trying not to force anything in his return. A locker room leader who was the face of the team that gave the eventual champion Miami Heat team a battle -- both physically and verbally -- in last year's playoffs, Granger's absence this season has led to the rise of Paul George.
George became an All-Star for the first time in his three NBA seasons, and that led to rumors of Indiana feeling out trades for Granger, who is making $13 million this year. The trade deadline passed, and now the Pacers will move forward with the addition of a key piece to their recent success.
Granger holds career averages of 18.2 points and 5.2 rebounds.
