Jose Calderon will make his debut for the Detroit Pistons Monday night against the New York Knicks. The team tweeted that the point guard, who was acquired from the Toronto Raptors last week, was cleared and should be in uniform.

The Detroit Pistons will have point guard Jose Calderon available Monday against the Knicks for the first time since acquiring him via trade.

Part of the three-team deal that moved Memphis Grizzlies forward Rudy Gay to the Raptors, Calderon was shipped to Detroit, but has yet to suit up because of visa issues. That trade occurred Wednesday night, and the Spanish-born guard has missed two games since.
The Pistons beat the Cleveland Cavaliers without Calderon and nearly dropped the Los Angeles Lakers in a 98-97 loss Sunday. They were even more shorthanded considering the trade sent forwards Tayshaun Prince and Austin Daye to Memphis.
Calderon is averaging 11.1 points and 7.4 assists per game this season and has been "chomping at the bit" to finally take the court for Detroit, according to the Detroit Free Press. How coach Lawrence Frank establishes Calderon's playing time will be a thing to watch, as the Pistons have a guard rotation of capable players in Brandon Knight, Rodney Stuckey and Will Bynum.
