NBA schedule 2013: Rockets-Heat, Warriors-Thunder make for fun Wednesday

There should be plenty of scoring on Wednesday when the Heat host the Rockets and the Thunder play the Warriors.

Brett Davis-US PRESSWIRE

The Miami Heat host the Houston Rockets and the Oklahoma City Thunder welcome in the Golden State Warriors on what should be an extremely fun Wednesday night in the NBA.

The Eastern Conference-leading Heat have been superb at home this year, compiling a 19-3 record at AmericanAirlines Arena. Miami has also had a lot of recent success against Houston, winning six straight games in the series. In the last four of those games, LeBron James is averaging 30.8 points on 55.4 percent shooting.

The Rockets have been playing extremely well of late, and are coming off a 140-109 beatdown of the Warriors on Tuesday night. Houston made a record-tying 23 three-pointers in the game and has been scoring at a crazy pace overall, averaging 117.2 points in its last six outings.

The Western Conference battle between the Thunder and Warriors should be just as exciting. Oklahoma City is just edging out Houston for the NBA's top spot in points per game at 105.9, thanks in large part to the dynamic duo of Kevin Durant and Russell Westbrook. The Thunder, like the Heat, have been dominant at home, sporting a 21-3 record at Chesapeake Energy Arena.

Golden State will be looking to rebound from that embarrassing loss at the hands of Houston. The Warriors did defeat the Thunder in the last meeting between the two teams on Jan. 23, but lost the last time they met in Oklahoma City on Nov. 18.
