The Carlos Boozer-Andrea Bargnani trade talks between the Chicago Bulls and Toronto Raptors are apparently on hold at the moment, but they could reopen at any time. And if they do, K.C. Johnson of the Chicago Tribune reports that the deal could expand to also include a swap of point guards Nate Robinson and John Lucas III.
Bulls trade rumors: Nate Robinson could go to Raptors with Carlos Boozer
If Carlos Boozer gets traded to the Raptors for Andrea Bargnani, the deal could also include a swap of Nate Robinson and John Lucas III.

After a rather up-and-down start to the season, Robinson has played brilliantly over the course of the last month for the Bulls. Not only has he provided plenty of bench scoring, but he has also done a nice job recently filling in for starter Kirk Hinrich, who has missed the last week with an elbow injury. Robinson was named last week's Eastern Conference Player of the Week, averaging nearly 18 points and just under seven assists in four games. For the season, he's averaging 11.9 points and 4.9 assists while shooting over 40 percent from three-point range.
The Bulls do have some familiarity with Lucas, who played on the team last year and saw a lot of time due to the myriad of injuries to star Derrick Rose. Lucas was rather inconsistent, but he did give the Bulls some much-needed scoring punch off the bench and became a fan favorite for a clutch shot over LeBron James in a win over the Miami Heat.
As similar as these two players are, there’s little doubt that Robinson is the better player. He has a much better track record and is having a much better season. There’s a chance Robinson may not play as much down the stretch and in the playoffs once Rose returns from an ACL injury, but that spark he often provides off the bench should not be easily dismissed. And while Lucas has the capability to provide that spark as well, it’s not likely to be as bright.
