James White says he has 5 perfect-score dunks up his sleeve

New York Knicks viral dunking aficionado James White told Slam Online in an interview Thursday that he has "about five" different dunks that he expects to earn perfect scores in this year's NBA Dunk Contest.

Here's what the field's oldest participant had to say exactly about what he's hiding up his sleeve:

"I have a general idea of what I want to do when I take the ball and get ready to jump. Everybody knows that I have the dunks from the free throw line and all that stuff in my back pocket. I can always pull those out. I watch what my competition does in the dunk contest and then decide which of my dunks I will do. I have about five dunks where I'm absolutely certain that I will get a 50 on those. So it's just a matter of when to use which of those dunks."

From the free throw line you say? Sounds like a scary proposition for his competition. And if you're doubting the utility belt of dunks White claims to have on deck, you probably haven't seen his resume of work. Despite his inability to consistently latch on to an NBA team, the man appropriately nicknamed "Flight" has had no problem winning dunk contests in the D-League and around the globe.

With all that mind, it shouldn't come as too much of a surprise that the online gambling site Bovada is already calling White a huge, 1-1 favorite over the field of Gerald Green, Terrence Ross, Jeremy Evans, Eric Bledsoe and Kenneth Faried.

The 30-year-old White has played in 34 games for the Knicks this season, averaging 1.8 points and 0.8 rebounds in 6.7 minutes per contest. But as long as White can show the Space City what it really means to reach orbit on Feb. 16, fans might just get over their calls for a dunk contest filled with superstars and forgive the man for his uninspiring stat line.
