The Nets and Bobcats are reportedly discussing the outline of a trade centered around swapping Kris Humphries for Ben Gordon, according to ESPN's Chris Broussard.

Both players have failed to live up to their salaries this season, so a change of scenery could be beneficial for each of them.
Humphries has averaged 6.0 points and 6.4 rebounds for the Nets this season while fighting an uphill battle to find minutes among Brookyln’s glut of power forwards. The 28-year-old big man still has one-year and $12 million left on his current contract, but the Bobcats probably don’t mind too much since they did pursue him heavily this past offseason.
As for Gordon, 29-year-old sixth man is averaging 13.1 points and 2.2 assists off the bench for Charlotte. Gordon holds a $13.2 million player option for next season, so the Nets will have to bite the bullet if they truly want to improve their perimeter scoring that badly.
The New York Times’ Howard Beck is reporting that the Bobcats proposed the deal, so the ball is in the Nets’ court on this one. NetsDaily believes that a Humphries trade likely will be the only move that Brooklyn will be making at the deadline so don’t be surprised if they take their time to think this one over.
