Raja Bell, Jazz won’t reach agreement on buyout
Utah Jazz guard Raja Bell will not accept a buyout, will remain with team until the end of the season.
David Aldridge of Turner Sports and NBA.com reported that Bell would’ve only been amenable to a buyout with the Jazz if he were able to find an offer from another team before the March 1 deadline for teams to reach buyouts with their current players. Aldridge said Bell was not able to find an offer.
Bell, who signed a three-year, $9.7 million deal with Utah in 2010, has not played this season after disagreements with Jazz coach Tyrone Corbin. Bell averaged 6.7 points per game on 46 percent shooting in 34 games last season. He shot just 40 percent in the previous season with the Jazz.
Bell, who is in his 13th season in the league, has a reputation as a defensive stopper. There were reports that the Los Angeles Lakers, coached by Bell's former coach Mike D'Antoni, would be interested if Bell would've become a free agent.
