The Utah Jazz officially waived Raja Bell on Sunday less than two weeks after the disgruntled guard failed to find a team to sign with, according to the Salt Lake Tribune's Bob Oram. Bell, who had been rumored to join the Los Angeles Lakers to again go to battle with former coach Mike D'Antoni, ultimately wasn't bought out by Utah by the March 1 deadline.

The Utah Jazz waived guard Raja Bell on Sunday after failing to agree upon a buyout earlier this month.

Now, the 36-year-old Bell is free to sign with another NBA team, but he won’t be playoff eligible. He could, however, play with any team for the remainder of the regular season, as Ira Winderman of the SunSentinel reports.
Bell had been unhappy with the situation with the Jazz and publicly criticized head coach Ty Corbin. He didn’t play for the team this season.
The move by Utah pays Bell his full salary, and it was likely made to open up a roster spot for the signing of guard Travis Leslie, according to multiple reports. Leslie, a second-round pick by the Los Angeles Clippers in 2011, is currently with the Santa Cruz Warriors of the D-League.
