New York Knicks forward Carmelo Anthony continues to work through a knee injury which forced him to return home from the team's current road trip to have his knee treated and drained back in New York.

The Knicks’ leading scorer treated his knee in New York and then caught up with his team in Los Angeles.

After having the fluid from the back of his right knee drained on Thursday, Anthony was expected to fly across the county to rejoin the Knicks in Los Angeles prior to their game against the Clippers on Sunday, according to reports. While making a valiant effort to make it to L.A. for the game on Sunday, Melo's status remains questionable depending on how his knee reacts to the latest treatment.
Melo leads the Knicks in scoring with 27.5 points per game, but he is now just trying to get healthy for the playoffs as the Knicks limp toward the end of the regular season. Anthony played in the first two games of the team’s road trip before missing the loss in Portland on Thursday. Prior to hitting the road, Anthony’s knee kept him sidelined for three games.
The Knicks have lost all three road games on their trip so far and four of the last five games as the injuries mount. Amare Stoudemire had to shut it down to have his knee repaired and center Tyson Chandler also remains questionable to play against the Clippers while still recovering from a knee contusion which forced him to leave the game in Denver on Wednesday.
The Knicks currently sit in third place in the Eastern Conference, a game behind the Indiana Pacers and a game ahead of the Brooklyn Nets as they try to hold on to a playoff spot that will give them home-court advantage in the first round.
