The Golden State Warriors maintained their lead over the Houston Rockets for the sixth seed in the Western Conference with an impressive 108-78 road victory on Sunday night.

The Warriors moved 1½ games ahead of the Rockets for the sixth spot in the Western Conference with a big win in Houston on Sunday. Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson combined to score 55 points.

The backcourt duo of Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson was dynamite all game long, with Curry scoring a game-high 29 points and Thompson pouring in 26. The youngsters' performances were a far cry from the struggles in a bad loss to the Chicago Bulls on Friday night, where they combined for just 15 points.
Perhaps even more impressive than the play of the backcourt was the Warriors’ defense. The Rockets entered the night as the highest-scoring team in the NBA and had won the previous three meetings this season, but they shot just 32.6 percent en route to a season-low in points.
Golden State led almost the entire game, jumping out to an 18-10 lead after a surprisingly low-scoring first quarter and then extending the lead to 54-31 at halftime. Houston did cut the deficit to five late in the third quarter, but Curry and Thompson stifled the run with a string of buckets.
James Harden and Jeremy Lin had 21 points apiece in the loss for the Rockets. Carlos Delfino was the only other Rocket to finish in double figures, scoring 12 points off the bench.
