NBA 2013 schedule: Streaking Heat visit Celtics, struggling Jazz and Knicks meet up

The Heat will look to extend their winning streak to 23 on Monday when they visit the Celtics, who have won 11 straight games at the TD Garden. The showdown highlights a big night in the NBA, featuring 11 games with plenty of playoff implications.

Mark L. Baer-USA TODAY Sports

Exactly five years after the Boston Celtics ended the Houston Rockets' 22-game winning streak, the Celtics will look to put an end to the Miami Heat's 22-game streak when they host the Heat on Monday night.

Miami won its 22nd straight game by defeating the Toronto Raptors, 108-91, on Sunday. The Heat found themselves in a dogfight early in the fourth quarter, but they used a 24-4 run to pull away. Ray Allen scored 16 of his 20 points during the game-deciding run.

Boston is riding a streak of its own, as it has won 11 straight games at home. The streak started on Jan. 27 when the Celtics beat the Heat in a double-overtime thriller. Boston has won all five regular season at the TD Garden against Miami since LeBron James took his talents to South Beach.

The showdown between the Heat and Celtics is one of 11 games on a big night in the NBA. There are numerous games with playoff implications, including a matchup between the struggling New York Knicks and Utah Jazz. The depleted Knicks have lost four in a row and will likely be without Carmelo Anthony and Tyson Chandler once again. The Jazz did win their last game, but have gone just 3-7 in their last 10 games.

Finally, there have been some rumors that Derrick Rose would make his return against the Denver Nuggets, but it's looking unlikely at this point.
