Los Angeles Lakers star Kobe Bryant is not expected to play on Monday when the Lakers take on the Phoenix Suns, according to Kevin Ding of the Orange County Register.

Kobe Bryant will likely not play when the Lakers take on the Suns Monday. The Lakers then have three days off before their next game against the Wizards.

Bryant did not play in Sunday's win over the Sacramento Kings due to a sprained left ankle. The Lakers' star first injured the ankle on a controversial play last week when he came down on the foot of the Atlanta Hawks' Dahntay Jones.
Bryant tried to play on the ankle on Friday night against the Indiana Pacers, but went just 0-of-4 in 12 minutes. The Lakers did snag a win despite Bryant not being effective.
If Bryant does not play against the Suns on Monday, he will have three days off to get rest and treatment before the Lakers play their next game against the Washington Wizards on Friday. After that, Los Angeles begins a four-game road trip on Monday in Golden State against the Warriors.
