Andray Blatche is still torturing the Washington Wizards

Andray Blatche is still not happy with the Wizards, and he’s going to do his best to make them continue paying him forever. Or until at least 2015.

You have to admire Andray Blatche.

That’s a sentence that has probably never ever been typed before, we know. But still. A few days ago he was asked what he plans to do this offseason, and he told the truth. From the New York Daily News (via):

“I’m very aware (of my unique situation),” Blatche told the Daily News. “That’s what I’m saying. Everybody is probably thinking I’m looking to get that big check. I’m not. Not at all.”

[...]

”If I get a lot (in my next contract), yeah, it’s going to take pressure off the Wizards,” he said. “But that’s why I’m not going to do that.”

Context: The Wizards still have to pay Blatche his full salary after they amnestied him last year, and any contract he signs will be subtracted from what the Wizards have to pay him. So naturally, Blatche wants to sign for as little as possible.

To screw the Wizards as much as possible.

Good for him!

And bonus points for saying it all in public.

You might think is petty or immature or classless, but I don’t know. If YOU were amnestied that tried to make you the scapegoat for five years of institutional incompetence, wouldn’t you go out of your way to sign for the league minimum and stick it to that team as much as possible? I think we all would.

That’s the dream, isn’t it?

Andray Blatche is an inspiration to anyone who’s ever been fired from anything, isn’t he?

Look at that photo up there. Of course he is.
