Rick Adelman may quit his coaching job with the Minnesota Timberwolves after the 2012-2013 NBA season comes to an end.

When asked about the possibility of not returning in 2013-14, Adelman told NBA.com, “I think it’s something I’m just going to have to sit down with my wife and family and just talk about and see where we’re going with this. The most important thing is where we’re going with her health. Whatever happens will happen naturally.”
Adelman has been the Timberwolves’ coach since the 2011-12 NBA season, going a combined 49-83 during his tenure. Adelman previously left the team for three weeks in January while his wife was hospitalized after suffering from seizures.

The Timberwolves have had a dismal season with Kevin Love missing the majority of the year (18 games played) with hand injuries, Brandon Roy once again struggling with his knees, and Ricky Rubio returning midway through the year after recovering from an ACL injury during the 2011-12 season.
Adelman and the Wolves are on pace to end with a career-worst winning percentage for Adelman since he began coaching during the Portland Trail Blazers' 1988-89 season. Minnesota currently has a .348 winning percentage, with Adelman's previous worst being .367 with the Golden State Warriors in 1996-97.
