Courtney Lee injury: Celtics guard feeling better after being carried off court

Celtics guard Courtney Lee was carried off the court after spraining his left ankle on Friday, but he’s feeling better and still could play on Saturday against the Grizzlies.

Jerome Miron-USA TODAY Sports

Boston Celtics guard Courtney Lee had to be carried off the court after spraining his left ankle in a 104-94 loss to the Dallas Mavericks on Friday night. Lee did feel better after the game, but his status is still unknown for Saturday night's game against the Memphis Grizzlies, according to Mark Murphy of the Boston Herald.

More on the injury: CelticsBlog

Lee sprained the ankle with 1:51 left in the fourth quarter of the Celtics' loss when he landed on the foot of Mavs point guard Mike James while trying to pressure an inbounds pass. Lee lay on the floor the rest of the possession, which finished with a dagger three by O.J. Mayo. Lee was then helped off the floor by his teammates, but he said that after a few minutes he was able to put pressure on the ankle and walk off the court after the game.

Lee had five points on 2-of-5 shooting in 27 minutes of action. For the season, the shooting guard is averaging 7.8 points on 47.0 percent shooting and has started in 36 games. If Lee is unable to go against the Grizzlies, either Jason Terry or Jordan Crawford would get the start in his place.
