Gay left Friday night’s 99-94 loss to the Knicks in the second quarter when his back flared up. He scored just two points on 2-of-7 shooting in 14 minutes before heading to the locker room.

On the other hand, perhaps the Raptors will function better without Gay in the lineup. After struggling initially when he went out on Friday, Toronto did put up 57 points in the second half. Gay can really score when he has it going, but he has been woefully inefficient all year, and his poor shot selection can sometimes hinder the Raptors’ offense.
