Three days after tipping in the game winning basket against Oklahoma City and less than 24 hours after a 16-point performance against New Orleans, Memphis center Marc Gasol has officially been sidelined indefinitely with an abdominal tear, according to Ken Berger of CBS.
Marc Gasol injury: Grizzlies center out indefinitely with abdominal tear
The Memphis big man is averaging over 14 points and seven rebounds per game, but the Grizzlies will have to do without him for the immediate future.

Grizzlies announce Marc Gasol re-aggravated abdominal tear last night at New Orleans and is out indefinitely.
The Grizzlies say Gasol re-aggravated the injury Friday night against the Hornets. He is averaging 14.3 points and 7.8 rebounds for a Memphis team that is 46-22 and closing in on a playoff berth. He has also scored in double figures in 15 consecutive games.
An abdominal strain knocked Chris Bosh out of the playoffs last season for over two weeks, as he missed nine consecutive games in the second round and Eastern Conference Finals.
If Gasol is in fact out for an extended period of time, it would be a significant hit as Memphis fights for favorable playoff seeding. Memphis has 14 games remaining, including one tonight at home against the Boston Celtics that will tip shortly.
