"It's game-to-game," Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins told Ronald Tillery of the Memphis Commercial Appeal. "I have no anticipation, I just know it's game-to-game."
Gasol was reportedly injured March 6, but played through the injury until re-aggravating it on Friday against the New Orleans Hornets. Gasol had not missed a game this season prior to Saturday. Gasol, one of the top centers in the league, is averaging 14.3 points, 7.8 rebounds, 3.9 assists and 1.7 blocks per game for Memphis.
The Grizzlies are currently in a close race for playoff positioning in the Western Conference. They are in fifth place and would match up with the Los Angeles Clippers if the playoffs started today. They trail the Denver Nuggets by one game for third place. If they could overtake Denver, they would not only get homecourt advantage in the first round, but they could also set up a more favorable playoff matchup with the Golden State Warriors in the first round.
