Kevin Garnett will likely miss the Boston Celtics' game on Tuesday against the New York Knicks with a left ankle injury, according to Knicks reporter Tina Cervasio. On Monday, the Celtics forward was still waiting for MRI results to determine the severity of the issue, but head coach Doc Rivers told ESPN's Chris Forsberg that he didn't believe Garnett had much to worry about in the long term.
Kevin Garnett injury: Celtics star to get MRI on left ankle, could miss time
Boston Celtics forward Kevin Garnett is awaiting results of an MRI on his left ankle.

Celtics general manager Danny Ainge told the Boston Herald, among others, that Garnett will miss approximately two weeks. Ainge added that he believed Garnett hurt himself last Wednesday against the New Orleans Hornets, and he also reiterated that sitting the forward is with caution in mind.
Boston will err on the side of caution as the team closes in on a playoff run. Not only have the Celtics been hit with season-ending injuries to Rajon Rondo and then-Celtic Leandro Barbosa, but they've recently been struck by another rash of more minor injuries.
Joining Garnett on the sideline, guard Courtney Lee is also undergoing an MRI with a sprained left ankle, though his return on Tuesday is listed as "possible" to Garnett's status of being "doubtful."
Garnett was dealing with a thigh bruise that kept him out of two games against the Charlotte Bobcats and Miami Heat just a week ago. He returned for two games before his most recent issue, though Rivers said he didn't know when the ankle injury occurred.
The absence of one or both of Garnett and Lee won’t help Boston’s cause, as the Celtics are currently on a four-game losing streak.
