Omer Asik fined $5,000 for flopping
Omer Asik received a second violation of the league’s anti-flopping policy and has been fined $5,000.

The Rockets defeated the Spurs 96-95 in a tight game Sunday. The violation occured in the second quarter of the game as Asik spun and flailed his arms after Tim Duncan made contact with the Rockets' big man off-ball.
Asik is the fifth player to receive a fine this season. His first violation also came against the Spurs back in December. With the league making a concerted effort to battle flopping, fines have also been levied on J.J. Barea, Reggie Evans, Kevin Martin, and Gerald Wallace for second violations.
Should Asik violate the flopping policy again he will face a $10,000 fine. By the sixth violation the league will determine the fine amount and any suspension time officials see fit.
