Pat Riley fires back at Danny Ainge for comments about LeBron James

Pat Riley wasted no time firing back at Boston Celtics’ general manager Danny Ainge after he called LeBron James’ complaining about hard fouls “almost embarrassing.”

Pat Riley fired back at Boston Celtics general manager Danny Ainge, who called LeBron James' complaining about hard fouls against the Chicago Bulls "almost embarrasing," earlier Friday, with a simple message: "Danny Ainge needs to shut the f--- up and manage his team," as Ethan J. Skolnick of The Palm Beach Post reported.

Ainge was responding to LeBron's comments regarding the two hard fouls he felt he suffered when the Miami Heat lost to the Chicago Bulls, snapping their 27-game winning streak. LeBron had already responded during the Heat's shoot-around Friday, saying "nothing surprises" him that comes out of Boston.

Riley defended his franchise player, and added that Ainge was "the biggest whiner going when he was playing" when Riley was coaching, according to Skolnick. There's no love lost between Boston and Miami, but Riley's roots with the Los Angeles Lakers and Ainge's long affiliation with the Celtics also stands as a link between the two.
