Celtics vs. Knicks final score: New York blasts Boston, 108-89

Behind hot 3-point shooting, the Knicks captured the season series over the Celtics with a blowout victory on Sunday.

The New York Knicks continue to roll without Tyson Chandler, winning their eighth straight game in dominant fashion over the Boston Celtics, 108-89. Carmelo Anthony had 24 points and 10 rebounds to lead the Knicks, who took the season series over the Celtics with the victory.

New York got off to a hot start, grabbing a 28-23 lead after the first quarter. That lead ballooned to 17 at the break, as the Knicks exploded for 37 points in the second quarter. The rest of the game was a mere formality from that point on.

Like they have much of the year, New York made a killing from beyond the 3-point line, going 14-of-27 from long range. Chris Copeland went 3-of-3 from deep, scoring 22 points and grabbing five rebounds off the bench. Raymond Felton added 18 points and four assists, burying three 3-pointers of his own. J.R. Smith had a double-double with 15 points and 12 rebounds.

The Celtics were once again without Kevin Garnett, who will likely be out at least another week with an injured left ankle. Jeff Green had 27 points and Paul Pierce had 24 points and 15 rebounds, but the rest of the starting lineup combined for just six points.
