Nets vs. Celtics final score: Brooklyn notches crucial 101-93 victory in Boston

The Brooklyn Nets moved one step closer to home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs on Wednesday night, thanks to a 101-93 victory over Boston. Deron Williams led Brooklyn with 29 points and 12 assists.

Needing a win to move one step closer to home-court advantage in the opening round of the playoffs, the Brooklyn Nets got exactly that on Wednesday night, defeating the Boston Celtics, 101-93, in Boston.

With the victory, the Nets are now 3.5 games ahead of Chicago for the No. 4 seed in Eastern Conference, with four games left on their schedule. Chicago was off on Wednesday, and will return to the court on Thursday to face the New York Knicks.

Brooklyn was victorious on Wednesday night thanks to a big effort from their three leading scorers, Brook Lopez, Deron Williams and Joe Johnson. The trio combined for 70 points, with Williams adding a game-high 12 assists for the Nets. Brooklyn improved to 46-32 on the season with the win.

With the loss, Boston fell to 40-38 overall and left open the possibility of a first-round playoff matchup with the top-seeded Miami Heat. The Celtics currently sit three games ahead of Milwaukee for the No. 7 spot in Eastern Conference standings, with four games left on the schedule for each club.

Milwaukee lost 113-103 in overtime to Orlando on Wednesday night.
