With the victory Denver improved to 54-24 on the year, only solidifying their strong-hold on the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference standings. Meanwhile, the loss dropped San Antonio to 57-21 overall, and into a tie for first-place in the West with Oklahoma City.
For Denver, the story of the game was unexpected production from a handful of key players. Chandler scored 29 points, while Brewer added 28, marking his third straight game of at least 20. Andre Miller chipped in 12 points, making a start for the injured Ty Lawson, who again sat out with a heel injury.
Meanwhile the loss marks the fourth in six games for San Antonio, which played without guards Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili as well as center Boris Diaw.
Tim Duncan and Gary Neal each scored 17 points for the Spurs.
