Kevin Durant fined $25,000 for ‘menacing gesture’

Kevin Durant has been fined $25,000 for making a "menacing gesture" during the Oklahoma City Thunder's lopsided victory over the Golden State Warriors Thursday night, reports Darnell Mayberry of The Oklahoman.

The gesture? After dunking on the Warriors, Durant gave a faux-slash across his throat. It was an exclamation point on a night where the Thunder were rolling in full force against a Western Conference playoff foe. Perhaps the Nike ad's are right and Kevin Durant is not nice after all.

The gesture, as seen above, amounted to an equivalent fine from the league on Serge Ibaka after he smacked Blake Griffin below the belt. For a simple "gesture" to be equivalent to this below the belt shot seems a bit excessive. $25,000 for hitting a man down low, $25,000 for a "throat slash" after soaring through the air and dunking on an opponent.
