Maryland’s Alex Len to enter NBA Draft, according to report

Maryland center Alex Len will reportedly be entering the 2013 NBA Draft. Len averaged 11.9 points and 7.8 rebounds and is a consensus lottery pick.

Maryland Terrapins sophomore center Alex Len will enter the 2013 NBA Draft, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski. Len will make an official announcement during the week at a press conference on the Maryland campus.

The 7’1, 255-pound center out of Ukraine turned himself into one of the best big-man prospects in college with a strong sophomore campaign for the Terrapins. Len averaged 11.9 points, 7.8 rebounds and 2.1 blocks while shooting 53.4 percent from the field this season. Maryland did not make the NCAA Tournament, but the Terrapins did reach the semifinals of the NIT before losing to Iowa.

Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel has established himself as the top center prospect heading into the upcoming draft despite a torn ACL, but Len is not that far behind. ESPN’s Chad Ford has Len as the No. 3 center and No. 12 prospect overall, while DraftExpress has him as the No. 4 center and No. 11 prospect overall.
