The Cleveland Cavaliers have some great young players in place, but the man coaching them could be shown the door once the season concludes. While the team hasn't said anything public yet, "all indications are privately pointing to," head coach Byron Scott being fired Thursday, Jason Lloyd of the Akron Beacon Journal reports.
Byron Scott could be fired by Cleveland Cavaliers Thursday, according to report
The Cavaliers are considering firing coach Byron Scott at the season’s conclusion.
With another year still on his current contract, Scott has insisted to the media that he’ll still be around next season, but that’s becoming increasingly unlikely.
Even as young players like Kyrie Irving, Tristan Thompson and Dion Waiters showed growth under Scott, the Cavs continued their losing ways. With a 24-57 record this season, some have questioned Scott's leadership of the team, with rumblings of some players growing frustrated fueling the speculation of his firing.
The Cavaliers close the season Wednesday night against the Charlotte Bobcats.
