Kelly Olynyk will enter 2013 NBA Draft, according to report
Kelly Olynyk will take his versatile game to the NBA, declaring for the draft, and leaving Gonzaga prior to his senior year.
In his final year with Gonzaga, Olynyk averaged 17.8 points per game on 63 percent shooting. He also pulled down 7.3 rebounds per game, and was an All-American selection. DraftExpress has Olynyk ranked as the 13th best overall draft prospect out of 100, but behind a handful of other big men led by Cody Zeller.
Olynyk’s versatility will make him an intriguing draft prospect, as he can work down low in the post, finish around the rim, and serve as a stretch player. His value will be hurt by his defense, however, as he doesn’t have the lateral quickness or awareness to make him a defensive anchor even with his height.
In the NCAA Tournament, Gonzaga was upset by Wichita State, and were the first no. 1 seed to be eliminated during the tournament.
