Raymond Felton throws rare lob pass for a J.R. Smith three

Well, this was ... different.

There haven't been a lot of uber-acrobatic highlights yet, but this assist from Raymond Felton deserves some attention. As he drove baseline under the basket, real estate evaporated quickly and Felton kicked out to J.R. Smith for a three-pointer. But Smith wasn't an easy pass away along the baseline to the sideline three.

Feltonpass

He was across the entire defense, behind the arc, behind the elbow. Felton’s pass miraculously wasn’t picked off as it floated at a snail’s pace yet resulted in a made three from Smith. This must be what it’s like to see a soccer ball bent like Beckham. Or something. I watch a lot of movies, but I don’t watch much soccer.

Weird? Sure. But hey, in the playoffs. Whatever works, works.
