Looking to be ready for his 18th NBA season, Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash says he won't take any time off as he tries to shake the hip injury that bugged him throughout this year, Mark Medina of L.A. Daily News reports.
Steve Nash won’t take time off, hopes to be 100 percent by next month
Lakers guard Steve Nash says he won’t take any time off after the team’s short postseason trip as he looks to enter next season healthy.

With the Lakers being swept in the first round of the playoffs by the San Antonio Spurs, Nash is already looking ahead to being healthy next season at 39 years old. The two-time MVP missed 32 games this season with a number of ailments and looked noticeably limited when he was able to play against San Antonio.
The good news is that Nash doesn’t believe he will need any surgical procedures to get back to full health, so the Lakers will likely have at least one of their future Hall of Fame guards on the court at the beginning of next season. He thinks he can be “100 percent” within a month, giving him ample time to prepare for next season.
In his debut season with L.A., Nash averaged 12.7 points and 6.7 assists in 32.5 minutes per game. He was still an elite shooter, knocking down 50 percent of his shots from the field, 44 percent from beyond the arc and 92 percent at the free throw line.
