After Wednesday's heated and embarrassing loss to Miami, we knew this game would likely include more of the same. Lo and behold, Joakim Noah took offense to Chris Andersen's defense on Nate Robinson, pushing Andersen as he lay next to Robinson following their collision.
Joakim Noah hit with a technical foul after shoving Chris Andersen
Andersen had went for the block on Robinson’s layup and fell on him when they hit the ground. Andersen rolled over afterwards and Noah shoved him for good measure as he rushed to help Robinson get back to his feet.
Players from both sides gathered in the ensuing mass of close discussion. Noah received a technical foul for starting the physical altercation.
With nine technical fouls handed out in Game Two, it certainly seems like we could see a lot more tonight. Physical play begets emotional intensity and the playoffs ratchet that intensity up even further. As the game continues, I doubt we’ll see anything close to Wednesday’s levels but the intensity could bring more of what we’ve seen.
