Mike Malone hired as Sacramento Kings’ head coach, according to report
The Kings have reportedly agreed on a four-year deal with Golden State’s Malone.

Malone had drawn interest from multiple teams over the last few years, and is well respected for his work with the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball. Malone served as an assistant with the New Orleans Hornets, Cleveland Cavaliers and New York Knicks prior to working with Golden State and Mark Jackson.
Malone joined the Warriors’ coaching staff in 2011, and began his NBA coaching career as an assistant with the New York Knicks in 2003.
Wojnarowski also reports that the fourth year on Malone’s deal is a team option, and Ramona Shelburne of ESPN adds that the deal is in excess of $9 million. The Kings have not made an official announcement regarding Malone.
