After missing the last two months while dealing with another injury to his knee, Amar'e Stoudemire could play in Game 3 of the Knicks' second-round series with the Pacers. Knicks coach Mike Woodson outlined the timetable for his All-Star big man's possible return on Tuesday after shootaround:
Amar’e Stoudemire injury: Knicks forward will practice Friday, hopes to play Saturday
If there are no complications as his rehab continues, the Knicks big man could be back on the floor for Game 3 against the Pacers.
Woodson said the plan with Amar'e is play 3-on-3 again tomorrow, take off Thurs, fully practice Friday and if he's OK play Saturday.

Given Stoudemire’s injury history in recent years, there’s no guarantee there won’t be more complications in the coming week. However, his return could be just in time for an undersized Knicks team, as they struggled with the Pacers’ size up front in their Game 1 loss.

Amar’e played 29 games this season, coming off the bench for the first time in his career. He averaged 14 points and five rebounds on 58 percent shooting.
