Denver Nuggets general manager Masai Ujiri will be named NBA Executive of the Year, according to a report by Benjamin Hochman of the Denver Post. The news comes on the same day that Nuggets coach George Karl won the league's Coach of the Year award.

Ujiri just completed his third season as Denver’s executive vice president in charge of basketball operations. Under his management, the Nuggets finished 57-25 on the season, earning the No. 3 seed in the Western Conference playoffs, and improving their winning percentage over the strike-shortened 2011-12 campaign by nearly 12 percentage points.
Prior to joining the Nuggets, Ujiri had been Director of Global Scouting for Toronto. He did serve a previous stint with the Nuggets, spending four seasons as an international scout under general manager Kiki Vandeweghe.
Ujiri was born in Nigeria, and was the first African-born general manager for a major American sports team when hired. In addition to managing the Nuggets, he directs the NBA’s Basketball Without Borders campaign in Africa.
