The Big Three of the San Antonio Spurs flourished in Game 1 of the 2013 NBA Finals, with Tim Duncan, Tony Parker and Manu Ginobili combining for 54 points in a 92-88 victory over the Miami Heat. Game 2 was a completely different story, as all three players struggled in a 103-84 blowout loss.

Tim Duncan and the rest of the Spurs’ Big Three struggled mightily in a Game 2 loss to the Heat in the NBA Finals.
Duncan’s night was especially rough, as the future Hall of Famer had just nine points on 3-of-13 shooting in one of his worst NBA Finals performances ever. Duncan was never able to get into a good rhythm, although he told Mike Monroe of the San Antonio Express-News that he got some of the looks he wanted:
“We didn’t play well,” he said. “We didn’t shoot well. I know I played awfully. I look at my shots and they were the shots that I want. Obviously, they’re contested shots but they’re the shots I feel I can make.
“I’m getting the shots I want. I just have to knock them out.”
Duncan went just 2-of-10 on shots inside 15 feet and 2-of-6 on shots inside the paint, failing to cash in on his size advantage down low after scoring 20 points in Game 1. The 37-year-old did grab 11 rebounds on Sunday, but the Spurs need more on offense in order to knock off Miami.
Duncan, Parker and Ginobili combined to go 10-of-33 in Game 2, offsetting strong efforts from Danny Green and Kawhi Leonard. Green had 17 points on 6-of-6 shooting, while Leonard had 14 rebounds, with eight of those coming on the offensive end.
