Jason Kidd could bring along Lawrence Frank as Nets coach
If Jason Kidd gets the Nets’ head coaching job, he’ll likely be bringing some experienced assistants along with him.

After retiring from his career as a player earlier this month, Kidd began angling to become Brooklyn’s next head coach in recent days. Yahoo! Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski says he’s being seriously considered to replace interim coach P.J. Carlesimo as both sides work to put together a staff which Kidd would lead.
One of the central and understandable concerns for Brooklyn is Kidd’s general lack of coaching experience. The 40-year-old has 19 seasons of playing experience under his belt, but it appears the Nets insist he bring along some experienced help to show him the ropes in the early going.
With 614 games of NBA head coaching experience under his belt, Frank would certainly qualify. The two worked together in the past when Frank coached the Kidd-led New Jersey Nets from 2003 until the future Hall of Famer was traded in 2008. The next season without Kidd, New Jersey fired Frank following an 0-16 start.
It’s unclear who would join Kidd and Frank on a new Nets staff, but other experienced coaches would likely fit the bill. If the former Nets star can put together a staff to management’s liking, the idea of Kidd roaming the sidelines next season might not be so crazy after all.
