NBA Mock Draft 2013 Roundup: Nerlens Noel still likely to go No. 1 to Cleveland

The latest mock drafts still point toward Cleveland taking Nerlens Noel with the first overall pick.

USA TODAY Sports

With just over two weeks remaining before the 2013 NBA Draft, mocking season hits top gear as the clouds fade and draft boards solidify. No longer forced to depend wholly on gut feel as teams actually begin targeting specific players, we’ll likely see some intriguing trends emerge in the coming weeks.

As of Wednesday, Kentucky center Nerlens Noel continues to be the borderline consensus No. 1 overall pick, even as the Cleveland Cavaliers continue to weigh all options. Other elite prospects like Otto Porter, Victor Oladipo and Ben McLemore have been tied to the team, so Noel-to-Cleveland is far from a lock at this point.

Meanwhile, it appears pretty unlikely that Georgetown's Porter gets past the Washington Wizards with the third pick. The only consensus selection among the seven mock drafts listed below, Porter could drop if analysts are exaggerating Washington's interest considering he refused to workout for teams outside the top three.

Other trends include the rising stock of C.J. McCollum, who gets tied to Minnesota in multiple mocks, the increasing likeliness that Shabazz Muhammad falls out of the lottery and the boosting stock of point guard Dennis Schroeder. The German doesn't fall past the Celtics with the No. 16 pick in any of the mocks.
