Sergey Karasev, a 19-year-old Russian teenager, has been rising on draft boards over the past few weeks.
NBA Draft 2013: Flip Saunders compares Sergey Karasev to Toni Kukoc
The new Timberwolves GM is a fan of the Russian teenager, who may be a possibility for Minnesota at No. 9.

One NBA decision-maker who’s clearly a fan is Flip Saunders, the new GM of the Minnesota Timberwolves. He posted a quick scouting report of Karasev on his Twitter account on Friday:
Kerasev reminds you of a smaller Tony Kukoc. Lefty slight build smooth with ball. Mbakwa playing Big 10 ball - bodies flying.

Karasev played for a Russian team last year, averaging 16 points, 3.0 rebounds and 2.5 assists a game on 44-percent shooting.
What has to be really intriguing for Minnesota, a team desperately in need of outside shooting, was his 49-percent mark from beyond the 3-point line last season.
In its latest mock draft, DraftExpress projects Minnesota taking Shabazz Muhammad with Karasev falling to the Milwaukee Bucks at No. 15.
