Steve had been planning this for months. He'd scrimped, he'd saved. He finally had lower-bowl tickets for Game 7. This would be his moment. Steve, an aspiring Warriors blogger, had been dissed by Coach Popovich months earlier in a pregame scrum. Now, he would have his revenge.
NBA Finals: The saga of a Warriors fan in Miami
Miami fans are wearing all white for a “white out”. One man dared to be different.
He’d wear his Steph Curry jersey. That way Pop could piece it all together. “Wait, is that? No, it couldn’t be,” Pop would think. And then he’d accept the truth. No longer would Pop address reporters without consequences.
Steve planned to wait until later in the game, but early in the first quarter his moment presented itself. During a slight lull, Steve stood, cupped his hand, and shouted:
“You suck, Popovich!”
Steve had done it. He spread his arms, triumphantly. He had done it.
He had done it.
Update: And Curry noticed.
