The on-again off-again saga of a potential trade that would send coach Doc Rivers to the Clippers has reached another impasse, but the Boston Celtics reportedly don't want the future of their leader to remain in limbo much longer. Rivers and Celtics GM Danny Ainge plan on communicating through the weekend with the hope of coming to a decision on Rivers' status with Boston by Monday, reports Adrian Wojnarowski of Yahoo! Sports. Rivers will choose between a return to television and another season coaching Boston.
Celtics, Doc Rivers set to decide coach’s future by Monday, per report
There’s now a timetable for Doc Rivers’ future with the Boston Celtics.

The Clippers and Celtics have been engaged in highly-publicized negotiations for the past week, with the two sides fighting over compensation. Rivers reportedly isn't keen on leading the Celtics during a rebuilding year, and is intrigued by the possibility of coaching Chris Paul, Blake Griffin and the Clippers. The problem is Boston's demand for a first-round draft pick, something Los Angeles isn't willing to part with.
The NBA has already dumped cold water on a proposed deal that would have sent Kevin Garnett to the Clippers along with Rivers, but Los Angeles still has their sights set on the coach, with free agent Paul reportedly preferring for it to go through.
