The Boston Celtics have reached an agreement with the Los Angeles Clippers to send Doc Rivers to Los Angeles for the Clippers' 2015 unprotected first-round draft pick, and ESPN writer Jackie MacMullen appeared on SportsCenter on Sunday saying there is a possibility that Danny Ainge could be the next Celtics head coach.

The Celtics have agreed to a deal to send Doc Rivers to Los Angeles, and could replace him with president of basketball operations Danny Ainge.
The teams await league approval on the deal, which is expected to pass as legal under current league terms.

Ainge was a player with the Celtics from 1981 to 1989. He retired from his playing career in 1995 and became the head coach of the Phoenix Suns in 1996. With Phoenix, he compiled a 136-90 record, but resigned from his position during the 1999-2000 season. His best single-season record with the Suns was a 56-26 finish in the 1997-1998 season.
In 2003, Ainge was hired as the Executive Director of Basketball Operations of the Celtics. He most famously brought together the trio of Kevin Garnett, Ray Allen and Paul Pierce in 2007. The group went on to win the 2008 NBA Finals and Ainge was promoted to President of Basketball Operations following the 17th championship in Celtics history.
