Kentucky product Archie Goodwin was selected by the Phoenix Suns with the No. 29 pick of the 2013 NBA Draft. The Suns moved up from No. 30 to No. 29 in a trade with the Golden State Warriors, according to Yahoo! Sports' Adrian Wojnarowski.

The 6'5, 189-pound shooting guard played a pivotal role for John Calipari's young squad that missed the NCAA Tournament. Though he experienced bouts of inefficiency as SEC defenses adjusted to his style, Goodwin averaged 14.1 points, 4.6 rebounds and 2.7 assists per game in his one-and-done season with the Wildcats.

Archie Goodwin declared for the 2013 NBA Draft despite a disappointing freshman season at Kentucky. Will his talent shine through in the pros? Goodwin, from Little Rock, Ark., is the youngest American player in the 2013 NBA Draft, making his physical abilities all the more impressive. A limited jump shooter who connected on just 26.6 percent of his three-point shots as a freshman, Goodwin earned most of his points by attacking the rim and finishing through contact against taller players. He has an above-average handle but will need to improve as a decision-maker -- he tends to force shots and can get caught up in trying to score -- to get the most out of his physicality.
While Goodwin’s length and athleticism make up for a frame that’s small for a shooting guard, the biggest question mark will be whether he can develop a consistent enough jump shot.
Goodwin is a project, but the Suns are in the midst of a rebuild, so they can afford to wait for him to develop. Goodwin may eventually be a key part of the team's core along with Alex Len, who was selected with the No. 5 pick in the draft.
