New York Knicks close to acquiring Andrea Bargnani, according to report

The Knicks are reportedly offering a package of Marcus Camby, Steve Novak and future draft picks.

USA TODAY Sports

The New York Knicks are close to trading for Andrea Bargnani of the Toronto Raptors, reports Howard Beck of the New York Times. The Knicks' package includes Marcus Camby, Steve Novak, a future first-round draft pick and a future second-round draft pick.

Bargnani played in only 35 games for Toronto after dealing with injuries to his right elbow through the 2012-2013 season, and the Raptors are an organization in transition after 2013 Executive of the Year Masai Ujiri joined their front office. Bargnani averaged 12.7 points per game on 40 percent shooting, and while having a reputation as a three-point specialist, shot only 31 percent from beyond the arc.

The Raptors had previously been in trade discussions with the Los Angeles Clippers in a deal that would send Bargnani to L.A. for point guard Eric Bledsoe.

Bargnani will make more than $22 million over the remaining two years on his contract. Camby and Novak combine to make $18.5 million over the next three seasons.
