Spears of Yahoo! Sports. The news comes as little surprise for a player many likely assumed had already finished playing.

One of the great scorers of the 2000s as part of the Orlando Magic and Houston Rockets, McGrady saw his impressive career derailed by a series of injuries in his late-20's. A fraction of the electric athlete he once was, his playing time with San Antonio amounts to garbage minutes when games are well in hand.

He’s only played 17 minutes overall during the team’s playoff run, failing to record a single point on four shots.
Still, it appears retirement isn’t a foregone conclusion at this point, even after the 34-year-old settled for a job in China earlier this season. Getting that first ring could affect his decision-making, even if it hardly comes as a result of his own effort.
