Can Chris Bosh do anything?
The game started with Bosh hitting two of Miami’s first three shots, but it was his general activity that was key for the Heat. He got in passing lanes on pick-and-roll coverage for three steals and also recorded a block off the ball. Bosh got another hoop on a follow tip for six points in the first half, and he led the Heat with five rebounds heading to the break.
Can the Heat force turnovers?
Miami forced San Antonio into four turnovers by the end of the first quarter to equal the Spurs' total for Game 1 and the Spurs finished the first half with seven miscues. The Heat defense was especially impressive against Tim Duncan, who went 2-for-7. Though the Heat was allowing the Spurs to get open looks from three, the interior defense was more than sound. Had it not been for Danny Green hitting three triples in the first four minutes of the game and the Spurs hitting 7-of-10 overall, the deficit might have been larger.
Can Miami stop Tony Parker?
Parker’s struggles were at the heart of San Antonio’s in the first quarter. He forced passing in pick-and-rolls early on and couldn’t get in the paint as the Miami defense collapsed. But come the second quarter, Parker began attacking off the dribble. In one sequence when LeBron James switched on to him defensively, Parker hit a jumper as James went under a screen and on the next play used a Duncan screen to get to the hoop for a floater. The point guard had 10 points and four assists at halftime.
