The Brooklyn Nets are already in line to pay about $80 million in luxury tax, but that's not stopping them from looking to add quality depth. ESPN's Marc Stein reports that there's a good chance the Nets sign Atlanta Hawks free agent Kyle Korver, with one rival general manager saying a deal is "in the bag."

The Nets may be close to acquiring sharpshooter Kyle Korver for the taxpayer’s mid-level exception.

Korver enjoyed an excellent season for the Hawks, averaging 10.9 points and shooting 45.7 percent from three-point range, good for second-best in the NBA. The sharpshooter started in 60 games for Atlanta, who acquired him for essentially nothing from the Chicago Bulls last offseason.
Many figured Korver would command a nice salary as an unrestricted free agent, so he would likely be taking a discount to play for Brooklyn. The Nets only have the taxpayer mid-level exception starting at $3.18 million a year to offer Korver. However, Korver has a good rapport with point guard Deron Williams, and the Nets are more attractive now with the acquisitions of Kevin Garnett and Paul Pierce.
