NBA free agency rumors: Timberwolves offer J.J. Redick 4-year deal, according to report

The Timberwolves reportedly have made the sharp-shooting Redick one of their top targets in free agency.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are looking for a perimeter sharpshooter to complement Ricky Rubio in the backcourt. It was reported Monday evening that the Wolves have already offered deals to both J.J. Redick and Chase Budinger, who played for the team last year, but the market was initially unclear.

The Redick offer was reportedly in the range of a four-year deal worth $30 million, according to 1500 ESPN's Darren Wolfson. That would be an upgrade to the three-year, $20 million deal that he just finished playing out as a member of the Milwaukee Bucks.

Redick was initially looked at as a bit of a bust in the NBA, but the sweet-shooting guard underwent a resurgence during Dwight Howard's final seasons with the Orlando Magic, when the former Duke standout was shooting 40 percent from beyond the arc. His percentages dropped this past season following a mid-season trade to the Bucks, but history says that slump will likely be an anomaly in otherwise solid shooting numbers.

According to Wolfson, Redick, O.J. Mayo and Kevin Martin are the Wolves' top three priorities in the early-goings of free agency.
